Job Description الوصف الوظيفي
Role Overview   The IP & Trademarks Agent is a commercially driven professional responsible for representing the firm's intellectual property services to clients across Egypt and the wider region. This role combines deep knowledge of trademark and IP law with strong client-facing and business development skills. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable advising clients on trademark registration strategy as they are identifying new business opportunities and building long-term client relationships.   Key Responsibilities   Client Outreach & Business Development: Proactively identify and approach potential clients including startups, SMEs, multinational corporations, law firms, and brand owners who require trademark registration, IP protection, or related advisory services. Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients through networking, referrals, industry events, and direct outreach. Represent the firm at IP-related conferences, bar association events, and business forums across Egypt.   Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned client accounts. Develop a thorough understanding of each client's brand portfolio and business objectives to offer tailored IP advisory and protection strategies. Maintain regular communication with clients to provide status updates on filings, renewals, oppositions, and any relevant regulatory developments.   Trademark Filing & Portfolio Management: Prepare and file trademark applications with the Egyptian Trademark Office and coordinate multi-jurisdictional filings through WIPO or regional IP offices as required. Monitor trademark deadlines including renewals, response windows, and opposition periods. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all client trademark portfolios.   IP Advisory & Strategy: Advise clients on trademark availability, clearance searches, classification of goods and services, and registration strategy. Provide guidance on trademark enforcement, watching services, and handling of infringement matters. Draft and review basic IP-related correspondence, cease-and-desist letters, and licensing documentation in coordination with legal counsel.   Market Intelligence: Stay current with developments in Egyptian IP law, WIPO guidelines, and regional trademark regulations across MENA. Monitor competitor activity and industry trends to position the firm's services competitively. Report on emerging client needs and propose new service offerings accordingly.   Internal Coordination: Coordinate closely with the firm's legal team, administrative staff, and external correspondents to ensure all client matters are handled efficiently and accurately. Contribute to the development of pitch materials, service brochures, and proposal documents targeting new client segments.   Key Competencies: Strong commercial instinct with the ability to convert prospects into long-term clients Excellent communication and presentation skills across diverse client profiles High attention to detail in filing, documentation, and deadline management Self-motivated and target-driven, capable of working independently Professional integrity and discretion in handling confidential client information Collaborative team player who can coordinate effectively across legal and administrative functions   What Makes a Strong Candidate: The ideal hire has spent meaningful time inside an IP agency or law firm handling trademark matters end-to-end — not just administratively, but with direct client exposure. They understand that in this field, trust is built through reliability and expertise, and they approach business development not as cold selling but as relationship-building over time. A network of existing contacts among brand owners, legal counsel, or IP professionals in Egypt would be a significant advantage.
