Develop, implement, and monitor the university’s Intellectual Property policies and procedures for continuous improvement.
Receive and assess invention disclosures from faculty, researchers, and students.
Conduct preliminary prior art searches and patentability assessments.
Coordinate with external patent attorneys for drafting and filing patent applications (national and international).
Manage trademark, copyright, and design registration processes.
Maintain and regularly update the university IP portfolio database.
Monitor IP deadlines, renewals, and maintenance fees.
Coordinate with the Legal Department to draft and review NDAs, MTAs, and IP-related clauses in research and consultancy agreements.
Ensure compliance with sponsor agreements and funding body IP requirements.
Assess commercial potential and technology readiness level.
Conduct market and competitive landscape analysis.
Develop commercialization roadmaps (licensing, spin-offs, joint ventures).
Identify and approach potential industry partners and investors.
Conduct negotiation of licensing agreements and royalty structures in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
Contribute to the valuation of intellectual property assets.
Facilitate establishment of university spin-offs in coordination with the Business Incubator.
Promote university technologies through pitching events, exhibitions, and industry forums.
Monitor performance and revenue generated from licensed technologies and startups.
Track and report key IP and commercialization metrics.
Contribute to periodic reports on IP performance, partnerships, and revenue generation.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Lina Manager.
