Job Summary
The Accounting Officer is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting activities, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company financial policies. In a real estate company, the role focuses on property-related transactions, client payments, project costs, and financial reporting to support management decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Transactions
Record daily financial transactions including receipts, payments, and journal entries.
Maintain the general ledger and ensure all entries are accurate and properly documented.
Reconcile bank statements and company accounts regularly.
Accounts Receivable
Monitor client payments related to property sales, installment plans, and rent collections.
Track outstanding receivables and follow up with clients for overdue payments.
Issue invoices and payment receipts.
Accounts Payable
Process supplier invoices and contractor payments related to real estate projects.
Ensure all payments are approved according to company policies.
Maintain records of all vendor transactions.
Financial Reporting
Prepare monthly financial reports and account reconciliations.
Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
Support the finance manager in preparing financial statements.
Project Accounting
Track project costs, contractor payments, and development expenses.
Ensure proper cost allocation for each real estate project.
Monitor project budgets and report variances.
Compliance & Documentation
Maintain proper financial documentation for audits and regulatory compliance.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and accounting standards.
Assist with external and internal audits.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
3–7 years of accounting experience (preferably in real estate or construction sector).
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
