Job Description الوصف الوظيفي
Operational Performance & Throughput
Own the operational performance of the assigned section — throughput, equipment uptime, productivity, and adherence to vessel plans and client schedules.
Lead daily operations reviews, shift handover discipline, and section-level KPI tracking against agreed targets.
Plan and allocate manpower, equipment, and contractor resources across shifts to meet operational demands.
Identify and remove operational bottlenecks; escalate cross-section issues to the Terminal Senior Manager with proposed solutions.
Equipment & Asset Management
Ensure full operational readiness of section equipment — stevedoring cranes, conveyors, hoppers, mobile harbor cranes, and ancillary systems — in close coordination with the maintenance function.
Drive uptime improvement through structured root cause analysis of recurring equipment failures.
Champion preventive and predictive maintenance discipline at section level.
People Leadership & Capability
Lead, coach, and develop section shift supervisors, foremen, and operational crews.
Drive performance management within the section — clear objectives, regular feedback, and disciplined performance reviews.
Build a section culture aligned with the terminal's standards on safety, quality, productivity, and accountability.
Manage contractor performance and discipline in line with the terminal's contractor management framework.
HSE Leadership
Own HSE performance within the assigned section — zero compromise on safety standards regardless of operational pressure.
Lead daily HSE engagement: toolbox talks, behavioral observations, permit-to-work compliance, and corrective action follow-through.
Personally lead the first response to any incident or near miss within the section; participate in root cause investigations.
Ensure full compliance with ISO 45001, Egyptian Labor Law No. 14 of 2025, and relevant port authority HSE protocols.
Continuous Improvement & Standards
Drive structured continuous improvement initiatives within the section — Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or equivalent multinational improvement frameworks.
Standardize operational procedures, SOPs, and work instructions; eliminate variation that is not value-adding.
Capture and share lessons learned across the broader terminal operation.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Coordinate closely with peer Section Heads, the maintenance function, planning, commercial, and HSE teams to deliver integrated terminal performance.
Interface professionally with vessel masters, surveyors, client representatives, and port authority officials as required.
Support the Terminal Senior Manager in operational planning, budgeting, and capital project execution.
Reporting & Governance
Produce accurate daily, weekly, and monthly section performance reports.
Maintain disciplined documentation of operational events, decisions, incidents, and corrective actions.
Contribute to terminal-level governance forums and operational review meetings.
